Fixe Southern House

Nice little restaurant for a fun night out. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was good. We had the famous biscuits for starters, and they were good, but NOT BLOW YOUR MIND THE BEST YOU’VE EVER HAD good. I had shrimp and grits, and my husband had a hamburger (he’s boring), and the food was good. I enjoyed my meal, but he said the burger was just a burger (well, duh). I gave it 5 stars because I didn’t have anything negative to say, but I’m not sure I would come back for dinner. I would come back to try brunch one day, if that helps. It’s definitely worth trying.

The biscuits, oh my! They almost had me declaring Fixe Southern House my new favorite spot right then and there. Everything here was exceptional! From the valet and hostess to our server, the service was amazing! The food was delicious as well. I ordered the fried chicken, and it was pretty good. However, my only complaint was that the chicken was a little tough and underseasoned, but the glaze on it was pretty good, and the kale salad was amazing. The highlights were the biscuits and the broccolini side dish. I highly recommend the house made lemonade as well.

Con: It is located downtown, so be prepared to pay for parking. The valet is a good option! Also, make reservations to avoid long wait time.

The lobster & crawfish pot pie was delicious! We also really liked their Fried chicken. The desserts, blackberry cobbler and chocolate cake, weren’t our favorite but still tasted good. Loved the Peach Old Fashioned! Very happy we visited this place during our trip to Austin!

Visited with coworkers and we all loved the food. We had the small private room and it was perfect. Our server was amazing. The biscuits are delicious, but everything was delicious. I will definitely come back next time I am in Austin again.
