Graze Wine Bar

This is a true local gem, with the most amazing and unique cuisine truly dedicated to celebrating New Zealand. The chef is one of the most creative and talented we have ever experienced. The tuna tartar and its adorable fish shaped crackers were the BEST we’ve ever had. Take the cable car to the top, walk up (a lot!) and then enjoy every bite (and the wine of course!). And don’t worry, it’s a lot easier coming down!

I visited for dinner the other night and had such a good time, the service was really welcoming and I’m definitely coming back for the full shebang course! The roasted butterfish was my highlight, but literally everything else was also so good that you’ll be curious about the rest of the menu. I wasn’t expecting to be at a restaurant serving a pescatarian menu, but there’s lots of love and they’re very ethical about minimising waste!

The plating of all the dishes also stood out at Graze – you can really see the amount of detail and care they put into how they present each dish. If you’re sitting at the chef’s table, the chefs are also great hosts that introduce your dishes and are super happy to share more if you’re curious 🙂

This is a really special wine-bar that came highly recommended to us. The wine list was great and the food was incredible. This was our favourite dining experience from our entire trip in NZ! It was really nice chatting with the staff and chef, and learning about the source and sustainable sources of the food we were eating. Every dish was beautiful and delicious and prepared with a lot of thought and care.

The atmosphere is casual and relaxed but the food and wine would fit right in at a fine-dining restaurant.

This wine bar/restaurant is tucked away in the hills of Wellington. The staff and hosts were passionate about the use of local produce and seafood in the region. The food was of the highest quality, and the chef made it taste amazing with lots of different variations. We had 6 guests attend dinner and drinks. Each guest stated it was the best spot in Wellington. If I was able to give a 10 out of 10, I would! Thank you from Australia 🇦🇺.

I was blown away by this place. I initially visited as it was listed as one of the top places to eat while travelling alone.

What was meant to be an hour lunch, turned into 3 hours because the food was that good and the staff amazing that I cancelled my other plans for Burger Month.

The $30 snack attack is amazing way to try multiple things on the menu and you can order this more than once like I did, trying different items each round.

Chefs are so passionate of their work and the sustainability of the restaurant is something to aspire towards.

The menu can also be catered to be vegan friendly with majority being vegetarian. Don’t worry omnivores, you barely notice it as the food is so good. Favourites would be the butterfish crudo, soft pretzel, and the yams.

They absolutely deserve their recent Two Hat award, having been opened 1.5yrs so far.

Highly recommend anyone visiting Wellington to visit. I have already made my booking to return in October!
