heart’s is the only place in the area that is consistently good.

they have a chalkboard specials board along with the regular dinner menu. I’ve never been for brunch yet.

first time, ordered the steak tartare and smoked salmon with squid ink, then was way too full for the main. both were fantastic. wish they had gf bread…. difficult to eat apps without gf options.

next times I knew to skip sides otherwise I couldn’t have a main.

had the steak special, steak had amazing ginger sesame flavours but I couldn’t chew it so only ate half. fries are too salty but I like how fat they were.

The cheesecake was the best I’ve had…. and I’ve had a lot.

Trout was very thoughtfully executed with bursting flavours.

The half chicken special surprised me with how tender and juicy it was.

The ribs are those fall-off-the-bone ribs with delicious coleslaw (I normally don’t like coleslaw). comes with good thick cut fries (still too salty for me but others loved them). I’m missing the cornbread.

there should be non dairy options, vegan options, and more non alcoholic beverage options.

an espresso machine would be a plus

parking is usually pretty full. please don’t leave large gaps when parking.

Overall Disappointing. Things started strong with the salad that was delicious but it just went down hill from there. The streak tartar was just odd both in seasoning and preparation (not very well ground) and the ribs I got were just burned. The fries that came with the ribs were pretty nice but overly seasoned. The service was decent and décor is nice but if you are coming for the food I would not bother. Also the online reservation system is broken showing only bar seating available with 90% of tables open when we arrived.

To start- this place is very comfortable and trendy to sit in. We were very excited about this meal. We had reservations for 12:00. We showed up just before 12 and they still had doors locked- no problem we didn’t realize it wasn’t open until 12, however 12 came and went and there was a crowd of at least 10 ppl waiting and a full staff inside still not opening the door, they opened it around 12:07 which was just really odd to me because 1. Why give us a reservation at 12 if you’re not able to sit us and 2. You can see everyone outside waiting and we are all on time but you’re going to keep the doors locked? From there the experience just kind of went downhill. I think people really feel like this is what Toronto is like and feel cool going here and the servers all tend to air on the side of I’m too cool to refill your cup but I will anyway. Our waitress was extremely uninterested in talking about the specials etc. which for a restaurant who changes their menus as frequently I think that would be a key thing the waitress would deliver to the table. When we got our food we were served one small dish of fries for 3 people to share who had fries as a side…so If you are going to order something with fries on the side either be Comfortable with who also ordered fries at the table or order something else as apparently you do not get to chose to not share fries with your table mates. That was a strange and honestly infuriating little thing that made us all roll our eyes. How dare you charge $44 for ribs and fries and then make us share our fries lol thats just ridiculous. The food was sub par…all of us had heartburn and felt yucky after. We had the burgers, pork belly and ribs and nothing was delicious, unique, interesting and definitely not worth the price. You are paying for the hype!

So much fun with my family here yesterday!
My brother-in-law found this spot after a hike and decided to bring us for lunch.
Not at all what we expected!
Simple menu of perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned, real food and unique drinks.
Everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
All of our questions were answered showing a keen interest in local food and making it a great experience.
Looking forward to the patio expansion.
I also really want to bring my easel back and paint. The view through the window from where I sat was splendid!
