What do Hugo’s Restaurant visitors reviews this place?
The last night of our trip in 2022, my partner and I stopped into Hugo’s without a reservation. We found the staff and atmosphere very warm and welcoming. We had one of the best meals of our whole trip.
Spectacular! Great wine list and staff. Duck was perfectly prepared. Pasta was a perfect al dente all obviously made in-house. Sauces were spot on no use of salt or pepper. Everything was perfectly seasoned from beginning to end.
Extremely overpriced place for what it is. Displays a semblance of fine dining but that’s just the decor and service.
We take your bags and jackets at the entrance, very friendly welcome.
A server is constantly present and attentive, especially to fill the glasses of water, which is a very good point, but which is for me the minimum to be able to display such prices on a card.
Very chic “old” decor with a floral tapestry and clean old/Victorian style mirrors.
About the dishes, as a starter Cured Salmon, rather good but it’s just 3 sad small pieces of salmon, Clearly expensive for what it is.
Very long wait between starter and main course, more than 25min.
The dish, on the other hand, was surprisingly pretty good. Very good surprise.
To put it in a nutshell, it’s good but you are clearly paying for the decor and the service, nothing else.
Lovely restaurant great service. Steak was a little tough but cooked well . Tart a bit to sour a little more ice cream would have sorted it.
Delicious meal this evening in Hugo’s. The stuffed nocellara olives were divine! Venison and fish special were both fabulous, followed by the chocolate mousse (light but so satisfying) and an amaretto to finish. Topped off by an engaging conversation with Gina. And our thanks to Justin, who was so accommodating when we had to cancel at short notice in early December.
