What do il Piatto Restaurant visitors reviews this place?
For a long time, I hadn’t heard good things about the food at Il Piatto. More recently, I heard some positive fuss about the new chef Lucio and so when we saw the Gemtree winery dinner advertised we decided to give it a go.
SO GLAD WE DID!
The food was absolutely gorgeous, I couldn’t fault it. Simple ingredients, perfectly balanced, elegantly presented. I’m half Italian and picky about Italian food and this impressed me.
The view is stunning, so make sure you arrive before sunset.
Service was lovely. Hearing Lucio speak, it’s clear how much pasison he has for food, and the respect he has for his ingredients.
Highly recommend attending a winery dinner at Il Piatto if you ever get the chance. I’m yet to try their standard menu but I definitely will soon.
The most beautiful meal we have ever had. From start to finish it was superb. Service and the venue was perfect. Would fly to Darwin just to eat here again.
Francesca made our night.
The food was delicious!
But her service was something else. Always open to give advice, lots of knowledge about the dishes, kind and always smiling
Such a nice expirence.
I would say one of the better Italian restaurant in Darwin. Service was really good. Pasta dishes are great but the serving portion could be bigger. New chef with some new dishes in the menu.
The food was okay, really expensive, if your charging $57 and $60 for mains, the food needs to be top notch. We hadn’t been back to il Piato for a while, I don’t think it was better, really. We had the prawn pizza and prawn salad for mains & the aranchini and bruschetta for entree. Was just okay. The new chef might be settling in, but the pizza was definitely better the last time we went.
