Karaka Cafe

We came here for lunch on a recommendation from a staff member at Te Papa museum. We ordered the crispy Pork bao buns and crispy fried calamari. Both were delicious. The iced tea was very fruity and refreshing. We enjoyed our meals. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Just watch out for the pigeons roaming around looking for a crumb or two. 😂

Was here on 7th Oct 2023 as part of the Weta Workshop tour package that included lunch here at the Karaka.
Brilliant staff and could not fault them at all.
Pleasant and personable.
Food was pretty good.
It was kind of funny to see the hygiene award/certificate etc on the wall and at the same time have a pigeon wandering around inside the restaurant and also a dog at the door trying to get in.

Great Kai. Lovely hangi and burger coupled with a beautiful view on a nice sunny day. Funny that the birds keep intruding on to diner’s tables. Other than that a great stop for lunch!

Wonderful wonderful place. Phenomenal ambience with a beautiful menu. We stopped in for a wine on the way home but will be back for a full meal. Staff were so kind and attentive also. If you are looking for a wonderful experience go here
