Liath Restaurant

Liath is a very small, intimate dining experience. The set menu (and paired wines) are out of this world delicious. Every dish is polished to the point of perfection and I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite (and only just kept from licking the plates). It was lovely to sit next to the kitchen and watch the plating as well. Chef, all the sous chefs, and the servers are excellent and incredibly personable. (had a lovely substitution to accommodate a shellfish allergy) It is a special experience. Highly recommend.

We recently had dinner at Liath and generally enjoyed the tasting menu experience. The flavours were unique and interesting but not too rich.

We cannot give it 5 stars because the portions were not big. We felt quite hungry throughout the meal and left feeling still hungry.

Every bite was incredibly flavourful, I didn’t think it’s possible to make certain foods taste good but here they surprise you with everything.
The place is a bit small but doesn’t affect the experience

Liath is simply fantastic, each time I visit Damien and his staff never fail to impress.
I’ve had so many memorable dishes here from the smoked Oyster with caviar, the perfectly cooked pigeon with the confied leg. Ever dish has the wow factor.

The staff are always wonderful and so welcoming.

I’ve been to Liath twice in the last few years and I’ll say high end food might not be everyone’s thing. But their food is great, the wine pairing was great, the non alcoholic pairing was great. The atmosphere is relaxing you can chat and you can hear each other, there is no rush.

I’ve eaten at various places from just good cheap food to 3 star places in Paris. Liath is very worthy of maybe being called the best restaurant in Ireland overall in that higher end side of the market. In other places I felt gold leaf or truffles or whatever were a gimmick and the flavour was lacking. In Liath I can’t say I’ll say either time flavour or service or atmosphere were anything lower than what was expected for the price.

High praise but it’s very worth it even at the price point if it’s feasible to go. I’ll be back again and I’ll be sure it will be as consistent as the last two times I’ve been there.
