Long Chim Sydney

I recently dined at Long Chim in Sydney and was impressed by the attentive and friendly service. The staff were welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

As for the food, it was alright but didn’t quite live up to the high expectations I had based on reviews. The dishes were decently prepared, but lacked the wow factor I was hoping for.

The atmosphere at Long Chim is lively, making it a pleasant place to dine with friends or family. However, the food was a bit underwhelming compared to the overall dining experience.

Good thai fusion food ,nice presentation and food is a bit spicy to normal people . We tried couple of plates which i would share .
I like thai food but again wasn’t as i expected. The food was good but not waaw .
Other issue i would say need to be fixed the smell of food and cooking was covering most places in the restaurant i would invest in buying a strong air exhaust to remove the cooking smell.

Given there are so many good Thai spots in Sydney, unfortunately this is not one I’d recommend given the food and high price point. We came here for a mid week lunch and between the two of us, we shared the miang kham (betel leaves with prawns – good), the wok charred noodles with beef (it was overly sweet and the flavour balance was off) and the green curry of duck breast (there was a lot of oil and this was way too spicy). Although the service was polite, it wasn’t overly attentive.

The entres were nice and so were the dessert, but the mains were quite average, nothing you cant really get elsewhere.

The pork jowl was fatty but not greasy and the bean curd pork roll was flavourful and feels innovative.
Main’s eggplant was good, eggplant was soft and pork had some crunch.
The curry was just some eggppant and duck slices swimming in a lot of curry and it lacks some depth and variety.

Dessert was good, albeit a but small in portion size.

Service is ok and prompt and the vibe is quite casual – a midweek sophisiticated thai meal.

This was my best meal on a 3-week vacation in Australia and New Zealand! We had the $99 tasting menu, which was great value.

The duck in red curry and coconut ice-cream with macadamia brittle were amazing! The chicken wings looked rather ordinary but tasted really good. I only wish they brought back the green curry, which I’ve tried at their Singapore outlet before it closed, and it was the best green curry I’ve ever had!

Service was excellent; the servers went out of their way to understand our dietary restrictions and accommodate us.
