Luker’s Bar , Restaurant & Live Music venue

We stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We were greeted by very friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious and the portions were very generous. As we were eating we had a lovely we had a great view of the river and the bridge watching some crazy people swimming. Fair play to them, it was a bitter cold morning but they all seemed to be having fun.
We will definitely return to Lurker’s when we’re in the area again.

Great range of Irish beers, tasty food and very friendly staff. Nice view as an additional plus. I would love to come back here.

I loved my visit at Luker’s! Great warm and welcoming atmosphere, made even nicer by the fireplace. The menu has traditional Irish dishes, big portions and fair prices. Recommending the soup and roast beef. And on top of that, the service is amazing, the staff is extremely friendly and attentive and makes you feel like a regular customer. Loved it!

This review relates to the last time we ate at Lukers in August 2022. Arriving just after 6.30pm we secured a window side table with a wonderful view of the Shannon and bridge. The atmosphere was buzzing and busy. The wait and bar staff were polite and patient. We grabbed a few drinks and ordered our starters and main meals. Given the business of the restaurant I got a second round of drinks and just after 7pm enquired with a staff member the status of our meal. Minutes later I was told the kitchen was very busy and that our meals were coming. Unfortunately at some point our order must have been broken up and one starter arrived with one of our mains, followed 5 minutes later by another starter and then at 7.40pm two mains. The starters were fine, my burger & chips nice BUT my daughter’s Chicken Curry & rice was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. If a picture paints a thousand words please see the picture that accompanies my review. It looked like it had been ladled into the plate from a pot as opposed to a fiery hot wok, the few pieces of chicken we could see were cubed (because nothing looks more natural than square pieces of meat) and the vegetables were MIA. The only redeeming feature was the sauce which was creamy and not too bad. Needless to say no one ate the meal. Given the nearly hour long wait, ad-hoc serving of our meals and business of the restaurant I opted to not bother a staff member about my daughter’s curry. We chose to not order dessert and only upon exiting and paying for our meals did I raise the above with the cashier. She apologised.
As noted at the start, August 2022 is the last time we ate and drank at Lukers. It’s a shame as it’s location, atmosphere & staff we encountered make it attractive. Thankfully Shannonbridge has plenty of restaurant competition all within walking distance of one another.
