MacNean House & Restaurant

We stayed here for a night a few months back. Got a last-minute cancellation. What can I say other than fabulous all round. Room, service, and food are absolutely fabulous. I’ve eaten in a Michelin star restaurant and have to say yours was so much better. Also the price was very reasonable for the quality of food and service we got.

Simply the best meal I have ever had in my life. The rooms are perfect, nothing exceptional but we were not there for the room!
The premises were spotless throughout. Staff were friendly and attentive but not overly so. I really liked the range on staff age and they all seemed happy to be there. Must be a result of being treated well by management.
The location is nothing to speak of there’s nothing else around but so worth the trip.

First time at MacNean House.
Waited a long time to be able to get a reservation but REAL worth the wait.
The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere with a bubble of conversation and laughter all night. The staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive.
As for the food, we have never had a food experience like this before. We had the tasting menu and from the beginning the level of skills to create such visual dishes, the knowledge explained about the whole cooking and with different wine’s from around the world accompanying each dish it was a joy to your senses. With no rush between dishes and time to enjoy each of them, it’s a whole food and sensory experience rather than a meal. Couldn’t recommend a visit highly enough.

just had the most special treat of a wonderful meal at Mcneem House. To say the whole experience was amazing is an understatement. From the minute we entered the building the staff were just the most professional I have ever encountered. So friendly and homely and the whole place was so classic and the interior so beautiful . The food was a totally mouth watering and artistic experience presentation 100% from us. Nevin himself was so engaging and gave so much of his time to every person at each table standing for many many photos etc. This truly is a special treat for anyone who would like fine dining.

Our room was at the front of the B&B. Got lifted out of it a few times during the night with artics passing by. We did have the window open which didn’t help. That aside, the bed & pillows very comfy & a lovely room.

Food, awesome! Presentation was fantastic & I loved all the different types of bowls & plates used. I chose Halibut for my main, to be honest, it was overcooked which made it very dry. That was disappointing & not expected. The rest of the food was delicious as was the breakfast.

Would highly recommend it.
