What do Made in Italy Sydney CBD visitors reviews this place?
It is our last night in Australia and after a long day we decided to get a takeaway delivery. Opting for a pizza we found made in Italy would deliver to our hotel. Nice and easy to order and added some extras to our pizza. Super quick delivery by the young man who rang to say he was in the lobby, very polite so gave a tip. Lovely thin base, crisp edges and lots of flavour. I managed to polish off my whole pizza, my partner only managed half…. Fingers crossed I will get some of hers for breakfast as looked delicious. Thanks for a prompt service and great pizza. I can’t rate the atmosphere as didn’t psychically got to collect or dine in.
When you get comments like “don’t film me I’m not citizen” followed by passionate finger gesticulations, you know this place is legit.
The place is hidden in an alley, you know you’re near by when you see the iconic Velvet Underground sign… hold yourself from paying g patronage and follow your nose to the source of freshly oven baked pizza.
Pick anything, it’s all good. My only criticism would be to add a bit more moisture on the potato pizza, even a bit of olive oil and chilli flakes on the side for us to lather on after its cooked.
Oh yeah, let it cool down too. It’s fresh and hot out of the oven… duh!
Must get: calabrese with the anchovies
Quick service and fine pizza but nothing special. Nice thin crust and all fine. We had tropical and American.
An unassuming pizza and pasta place hidden away in an alley. I had “Made in Italy” pizza which had eggplants, artichokes, anchovies and olives. Thin crispy crust (rolled dough rather than hand stretched?) pizza. It was a great in between meal snack for two people (6 slices in total). There’s a table and a few chairs outside if you wanted to sit there to eat but the alleyway itself has no charm (car traffic, office workers taking a cigarette breaks, and garbage bins….).
We visited Sydney for a holiday and had the pleasure of discovering Next Door/Made in Italy. Fast, delicious food, went back a second time! Only thing was when dining in we waited for a while for someone to take our order, then eventually a waitress told us to order at bar, would have been better to be told that when we were seated. Not a big deal, the food and atmosphere were great!
