Thanks for replying the email and asking about food allergies / diet restrictions after my booking.
But the food was a disappointment — too salty!
Couldn’t taste the pear in the dish, probably you shouldn’t use pear if it is so insignificant. The saltiness overwhelmed everything.
Sourdough bread was the highlight of the meal because it is not too salty. And the non alcoholic drink apéritif was nice.
I skipped dessert, didn’t get a price difference for skipping dessert, nor did I ask for one, I take it as supporting the female started business but what’s more than monetary support should be constructive feedbacks.
I hope next time there’s macerated peach in the dessert. Menu was very attractive on paper as the ingredients are all fabulous, presentation was gorgeous as well, but the delivery of taste is underwhelming.
Hopefully it was just my luck. But the restaurant being too small, not well ventilated (need a shower to get rid of the filthy smoke smell), batch serving (you need to wait until one course is cooked for all diners in the restaurant to be served), I’m glad I did not stay for dessert otherwise it would’ve been more than 1.5 hours wasted!

Absolutely amazing. Grainne is a top notch chef, and Julian did a fabulous job with wine pairings and all-around service. We will always come here at least once when we are in Dublin. Highly recommend, it’s worth it.
Amazing local restaurant! Firstly, the setting is lovely – you go up through the wine shop and overlook it.
The staff are all extremely polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Bonus points for most of them being French!
Menu is varied and ingredients are top quality Irish produce. They have an extensive wine list, again mostly (if not all?) French and selected by the staff themselves.
The food itself is great, a good balance of ‘fancy’ and down to earth cooking. Heavily influenced by French classics but nice modern twist on them all. Despite it being a set menu you do get a choice between the mains and desserts. We were all full after which isn’t always the case with these ‘tasting’ menus.
Overall, couldn’t recommend this place more.
Absolutely fantastic, Taken care by the incredible Julien who walked and talked us through all of the amazing dishes. Highlight was either the bao bun or the chocolate tart !!!
Brilliant experience at Mae. Food was amazing, and the service was great – so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
