MUMS Great Comfort Food

We’ve tried some Scottish traditional meals. Melty Mushroom Wellington, Haggis and Steak&Ale Pie. Each of them was very tasty and filling. It is not a fancy dinner place but it has a warm atmosphere. The service was fast but we had to wait 20 minutes to go inside. They have average prices.

I honestly really wanted to like this place! I came here because of the amount of good reviews – but I was left disappointed and confused? First, my fried camembert was hot on the outside but parts of the cheese inside was cold and still solid. I ordered the steak and ale pie because it was recommended by a lot of reviewers, but it was very very bland – the meat stew, carrots and everything. the The side of peas and carrots taste just like boiled frozen peas and carrots. The chips had a stale consistency. The date treacle pudding was good though! The staff was nice and accommodating even though they were quite busy.

Not much more I can add to the numerous positive reviews. Classic, no frills breakfast and brunch spot that serves up some quality food. Not the cheapest nor tastiest Scottish breakfast in town but it hit the spot. Well made espresso drinks, as well. Everything is fresh and made to order. A must-visit!

It is a nice restaurant. We had one breakfast (mum breakfast) and one lunch (stew & ale pie) the food was tasty and also the Mums beer was good. The people serving are really nice.
Would recommend this place for eating.

Beautiful place, good food at good price. We ordered the Mac and Cheese and the Steak and Ale Stew. Both of them absolutely delicious.
The dessert was incredible, a very very tasty Pudding. The attention of the waitress was also very kind.
