Pasteur Grill & Noodles

Tried it once, Def not coming back.

Service was haphazard. The servers didn’t bring out basic things like the alp alpha plate and utensils until asked. The service was super slow.

Food was blah at best.

I ordered the Vietnamese crepe, crispy spring rolls, and shaken beef cubes with tomato rice.

Everything was under seasoned. The crepe rice was undercooked. The bill was $81 with tax and tip.

My buddy ordered the noodles…

This is not the spot for me.

This is a follow-up review after 7 months. The food is still good but prices have gone up. The summer roll is now $9 (previously $7). In addition, there is a 3% surcharge if you pay by credit card. The combination pho ($16 plus tax) is my recommended dish.

Original review: You don’t have to eat Chinese food when in Chinatown. Pasteur offers tasty Vietnamese fare at reasonable prices. The grilled pork chop, in particular, was so tender. The accompanying sides in the combination platter ($14) may not be all to your liking but contrast nicely in texture and flavor. The summer rolls ($7) were decent but could have benefited from extra brightness and crunch).

This place is a rip off. My “SESAME CHICKEN” only had four pieces of broccoli with eight pieces of chicken and had more batter than chicken. Paid 16 for that plate with no side of rice. Smh !

My guest had her “CRAB & SHRIMP NOODLE SOUP” brought to her with the noodle soup warm and with the crab meat & tofu in it cold ? When I asked the owner why the food cold he said, that’s how it’s served and eaten, but if wanted hot he can take it to the kitchen and heat it up? Unbelievable.

Tha “clay pot fried rice” was good for two people. We ate inside but the fruit flies were super annoying.

This place is overpriced. I was excited to eat here but left disappointed.
Change that sesame chicken picture you have on your business. You do not serve that generous amount shown on your menu picture.

What a great place. I have been going to a different Vietnamese place for years and decided to try this place out, and I wasn’t disappointed. Although most the restaurants serve similiar items, this place stood apart. The place is small and gets very busy, I got there around noon and by the time I left maybe 45 minutes later it was packed. The service is amazing by two wonderful ladies. The food comes out so fast as well. I order the spring rolls and the crab and shrimp soup. The spring roles are great, although I did not get my lettuce wraps which I guess I could have asked for. As for the soup, completely blew my mind. It had pieces of tofu and a pork patty, the broth was perfectly seasoned, the tofu was delicious little fried nuggets, the pork patty was amazing and took up the flavor of the broth. It was the perfect soup. I will be back again for pork chops and other items. Please go visit this wonderful establishment.

good broth in bun bo hue but serving size of noodles and meat left something to be desired. egg cream was great tho and also loved the white lanterns!
