Fantastic! The service was excellent and the staff were really helpful. What we came for was the food and the renowned Purple Moose beer. Both were outstanding and really made our evening. Booking a table is definitely recommended as The Australia is (very deservedly) a popular place in Porthmadog. We’ll definitely be back.

Always handy to know a bar that opens at 11:00am! The Bowden Golden Pale was on fine form and only £3.90 for the scoop. Plenty of charging posts around but phone signal (O2) is virtually nil unless you sign up to the 🛜 app

Right on Porthmadog’s main street, a good selection of beers from their own micro Purple Moose Brewery. Their “Dark Side Burger” was out of this world and my wife was most impressed with their gluten free soup. We will definitely be going back.

Had the night out on the bikes with a friend and we went here for food and a few beer the local beer purple moose is particularly nice. The fish and chips was spot on after a day’s ride nice crisp batter and the fish was cooked just right not dry at all. We will be back again.

I love Purple Moose as a brand and I love this pub. From the moment you walk through the door this place is Purple Moose from tip to toe. I love the rustic decor and cheeky quirks. Staff are friendly and a great buzzing atmosphere.

Tables, chairs and benches all branded with the iconic Purple Moose head. Great quirky pub. Fantastic beers obviously Purple Moose is served both on tap and in bottles.

Even the loos are sign posted by Moose it’s fantastic. The quirky decor goes inside the toilets too. This whole place is bursting with Moose character. In fact after leaving we went a couple of doors down and kitted ourselves out with plenty of merchandise, clothing and more bottled beers from the Purple Moose Brewery Shop.

I can’t comment first hand but the food being brought out looked and smelled superb also.
