The Lion Hotel

This was my first time eating here and I was truly impressed. We had the Curry of the Day which was a Thai Beef Curry, the Curry base was fantastic and the beef was lovely and tender. Warm Chicken Salad was amazing and the chicken was so tender and flavoursome. The cheese dish was lovely and the Bread and Chicken Platter was so delicious as well.

Espresso Martini was lovely as well and had a nice strength to it.

Very impressed and would go back again.

What a lovely find. We came for lunch and shared a fish and chips as the servings are quite large. The batter on the fish was crispy and light and the chips were crunchy and full of flavour. A nice salad on the side really rounded out this meal. You can choose from inside or outside dining and outside was very shady and cool. Recommended.

previously visited in 2021 after a great experience and quality of food so decided to book a table online when revisiting Adelaide during AFL Gather Round.

upon arrival was told our table was 114 which was not easy to find – eventually was able to locate the reserved table under the name “Victoria” for 7:15pm even though I had my name Shaun for 7:30pm as the booking!

food was average at best, chips cold and dry, I was given a calamari at first even though I ordered a parmigiana… my partner requested no onion due to a food allergy in a $12 side salad which was forgotten to be delivered to the table (had to ask for it twice).

way overpriced since side salad was the same size as one supplied with a main meal and included onion so request not followed through especially due to an allergy!

won’t be revisiting the Lion Hotel and won’t recommend it to anyone looking for a nice meal or night out in Adelaide.

Nice atmosphere and service. The food is better. Every single dish is delicious. Highly recommended and definitely will come back.
