We liked it. They have an ample menu, with specials on the side. We were quickly seated and were able to pick an option from the early dinner menu and another from the specials board. Both entrees were very good and came quickly. Main dishes (both pasta) weren’t as tasty — a bit bland to our taste. Our waitress Eilean was very attentive and polite. Would recommend if you’re looking for a different dinner
We booked this restaurant as it was very highly recommended, and I believe that if you are a meat eater you may enjoy the food. I am vegan and my friend only eats fish so we went for the options we could eat, and didn’t find the food amazing. I had the vegan olive salad starter and it was very sweet for my taste with lots of fruit in it, but still pleasant. My main, though, was a plate of gnocchi which was just not great. Very sweet and overall not good. This is of course for my taste. My friend had the fried goat cheese plate with potatoes and beetroot, and it was nice but the goat cheese being fried was very heavy in her opinion and the dish needed something fresher. Her main was the scallops special and she said it was “ok”. It’s very hard to give a review as we were excited to go and the service was good, the waitresses were lovely, and the place had nice atmosphere, but we were disappointed by the food, especially the vegetarian options. Nonetheless I have to say they had a separate vegan menu, and they could cater for me, so there were options at least!
We had a party of 8 show up at The Mustard Seed. They accomodated for our large group quickly and gave us time to peruse the menu. We had the lunch menu, which is not even €16 for a starter and entree. We had the haggis, cajun shrimp bruschetta and pineapple & watermelon salad, all yummy! The entrees were even better! Highland steak, salmon, and fish pie, which were even more delicious! The staff was super friendly, service was fast and our meal was a success! Total cost per person was €22.50, including a bottle of wine and other drinks. Highly recommend it!
Absolutely loved this place! The fire place in the centre of the restaurant makes you feel so welcomed straight away.

Really enjoyed everything. We walked in for the early seating and were pleasantly surprised with the selections, serving sizes and quality food. The mash was made from potatoes, not mash powder. Really popular place. Book ahead!
