The food was really good. The best hummus in my life! Loved it!
As it was our last night in Galway, we decided to eat at The Western Restaurant where we were staying. Besides the friendly service, the food was fantastic! The Lamb Shank exceeded our expectations! Great Spanish red wine and Irish Whiskey, an early dinner and quiet evening, just what we were looking for.
The restaurant is lovely, almost romantic atmosphere. Our server was excellent; she was attentive, helpful, and friendly.
But the food was a disappointment. We had the pork belly as a starter. There was plenty of it, but it was too salty. I ordered the chicken Supreme. It was a big bowl of risotto, which was blend, and the chicken was a small piece of chicken in the center of this bowl of pasta. There were some brussel sprouts, but they were buried in the sea of risotto. I felt that the meal could have been presented nicer, and focus on the chicken instead of the bowl of pasta. I will say that the food was piping hot. That was the only good thing.

The bar was very nice but also very crowded with local amateur musicians performing the evening we were there. The Guinness stew was especially good and the other entrees our family had (chicken and lamb shoulder) were good, too. If we could, we’d rate it a 4.5/5.
excellent place to have dinner and see a free Irish show with local and international music. We had fish and chips, with pork bites and a Cesar salad. All delicious.
