Great Experience on St. Patrick’s Day Weekend!

My friends and I visited Union Oyster House during St. Patrick’s Day weekend, and despite the bustling crowd, the experience was fantastic. We were told the wait would be 1 to 1.5 hours, but we only waited for 25 minutes before being seated.

Our server, Justice, was exceptional, providing top-notch service throughout the meal. The complimentary cornbread served with butter at the beginning was a nice touch.

We tried several dishes, including the lobster roll, which I found to be average, though others might enjoy it. The shrimp scampi with linguine, a lunch special that day, was outstanding, as was the clam chowder. The oysters were incredibly fresh and of top quality.

We paired our meal with Guinness, which complemented the food well. The fish and chips were also good, with fresh fish and tasty fries.

The restaurant has a historic ambiance dating back to the late 1800s, adding to the overall experience. While the prices are on the higher side, being in the middle of the city, the quality of food and service justifies it.

Overall, we had an excellent experience and would recommend Union Oyster House to others.

The oyster house clam chowder was creamy and full of clams, the seafood platter with fries – the seafood platter was a mix of fresh seafood with a light batter. It was fresh and didn’t need extra seasoning. The homemade tarter sauce is fresh and compliments the seafood, broiled haddock was fresh and flaky and oh so good.
We had the lobster ravioli as an appetizer — omg– yummy!! Lobster was fresh, ravioli was pillowy soft.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Union Oyster House in Boston, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the oysters. They were incredibly fresh, perfectly shucked, and truly a treat for the taste buds.

One of the things that made my visit even more enjoyable was sitting at the bar and witnessing the oyster shuckers in action. It was fascinating to watch them expertly handle the oysters with precision and care. Not only were they skilled, but they also exuded great energy and enthusiasm, which added to the overall ambiance of the place.

The staff at the Union Oyster House were also exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to answer any questions I had. Their warm and welcoming demeanor created a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, giving the restaurant a true homey feel.

We’ve always wanted to go so we made reservations and went. The restaurant is very busy. People after work having drinks, groups getting together, families, etc. We had a special of blackened haddock, and fisherman’s platter. Both were really good. The corn bread was different and a nice surprise. We also had Boston cream pie as a dessert and that was tops. We enjoyed out meal and would go back. As far as I could tell there are no parking options.

A must do in Boston. We had a party of eight. Food was amazing. The menu has something for everyone. The staff, just terrific. The explained everything, made you feel welcome and I could tell they truly enjoyed working there. You could spend house just reading the walls. We had two younger kids and they were totally entered by just walking around. Everyone had a different dinner and all said the food was delicious. I had the New England clam chowder, fantastic! I should have ordered two!
